Happy Dance

WooHoo!! What a nice way to start the morning. I got an email from my editor. She loved the anthology I sent her. She took it with her to a conference over the weekend and couldn't put it down. YES!!! I'm so glad she liked it. Red Coats and Sleigh Bells was so much fun to write and I love the story. Since I have to wait an entire year for its release, Christmas 2009, I'll put a snip on my website.

My son called this morning from North Carolina. There are three inches of snow on the ground. It looks like it will be a good ski season.

*Big breath* I have not been able to get motivated lately and it really bothers me. So...I have joined with several talented ladies who will be able to keep me on track. Let's hope. Jen started a community for writers who need accountability. Boy, do I need it. Here's hoping we encourage and ignite each other's creativity.

Edits and decisions

The edits to Bound by Honor are back with my editor. This is such a nice feeling. While working on book two, I decided to tie up the loose ends that would have gone into book three. As much as I liked the idea of keeping the series a trilogy, I thought it would work well as a two book set. This decision did bring about several new climactic scenes and, I think, the the end result is fantastic. I hope everyone will be as thrilled as I am for this next book.

This was rather frustrating. I have read other Moning books, which I loved. I even added her name to my auto-buy list. But this book, yikes. I got the impression this might have been her transition book from time travel romance into paranormal. Setting that aside, I found it impossible to like any of the characters even in the slightest degree. I did finish because I held out hope for some small whisper of what I enjoyed in her other books. It wasn't there.

Bottom line...give Moning a try but not with this book.
