Jay

If you don't mind, I'm going to attach the first two weeks of January to the end of 2007 and begin 2008 mid-month. We received word this morning that my fil passed away at five am. He would not accept that he had cancer and refused treatment of any kind. So between the pneumonia (which is how they found the cancer), two heart attacks, and the five to six strokes, he had his way.

Thank you to everyone who shared in my grief these last few months. You've been great.

Oh, Carol. I'll be praying for your family during this difficult time. (Not that it hasn't been difficult to date, but you know what I mean.)

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for your thoughts and concerns. It really means a great deal. For whatever reason, this death feels very different to me than what I experienced with my grandparents. Perhaps it is because I have no memories of him as a child, only as an adult.

Jay was the type of man that even if he wasn't happy with you at the time, you knew it was something that you would work through.

He was non-stop energy all the way to the end and never one to lack for an idea, even building a house from the ground up by himself while in his sixties. (We think that it was his knowledge that he could no longer stay active is what made him decide to give up.)

So, thank you for your prayers, thoughts, and concerns and for letting me share a little bit about him.

You guys are great!

Carol, you have my sympathy, and from what you've written all I can say is good for him. He's in a better place, and no longer in pain. Cale

Hi Cale,

I haven't seen you in a while. I hope everything is going well.

Thank you for your thoughts, you are right. I now see why people are capable of laughing and crying at the same time.
