I really dreaded this. I was afraid I would need to rewrite the entire synopsis but was very glad to get by with only a few changes. Now . . . The query has been reworked, the synopsis tweaked, and the first three chapters reviewed. I think it is ready to be submitted. I'll get it all printed out today, but plan to wait until the end of next week to send it out.

I have spent endless hours pouring over agent websites searching for the best fits for my ms. My query has been nitpicked, poor thing, until I can't think of any other way to improve it. It is my hope to bombard my revamped agent list with the reconstructed query letter the first part of January. I am still waiting to hear from one agent who did ask for a partial with the old query, but I might as well prepare for more submissions. Next item on my checklist--synopsis revision.

After endless attempts to get a pristine hook developed, I think I have it. The main thing I need to remember is to isolate a pivotal point in the book. State the immediacy of it in one statement. Then decide the outcome of that circumstance. Focus on one thing/person and use action when describing it. Always think, 'back of the book'. I might get this down after all.
